Pre-School

For our 3 to 5 year olds the routine is slightly different as it is geared towards school readiness. Although learning through play is still an integral part of what we do with the pre-schoolers, evaluations and focussed activities around the following areas are important:

Literacy – Mathematics – Understanding the World – Expressive Arts and Design

The nursery's Pre-School is expertly run by our Head of Pre School, Karina who has been with the setting since 2010. Having gained her BTEC National Diploma in Early Years an Fda in Community and Family Support and working towards gaining her full BA honours Karina is passionate about the achievement and engagement of her 3 and 4 year olds. Working in close partnership with the parents and families of the children in her group to ensure the best teaching and learning strategies Karina prides herself on ensuring school readiness in her class room like environment.

At an extremely inquisitive age, our Pre-School group are encouraged to be forward thinkers who ask questions and seek knowledge. With a strong ethos for education and learning filtered down from Liz the nursery manager whose qualified teacher status plays a big role in supporting Karina's teaching methods the planning is always inclusive, effective and innovative.
