Meet The Team

Having a passion for Early Years Education and the holistic development of all children is my ethos for leadership at the setting. I have been at Edgbaston Park Day Nursery since 2004 and I strive to ensure that all of the children who have been under the care of myself and my team leave feeling enriched and valued with the mindset that they can achieve anything at the end of each nursery day.

I have built an exceptionally strong staff team throughout my time as a manager ensuring that my most important resources are the adults that I employ to facilitate the most enriching experiences and who can be great role models for the children during their most formative years.

My passion for diversity and equality has driven me to create the environment within my setting which values and celebrates the unique beauty of all children who attend and I work closely with all of the families to ensure that their children have the best possible start before school.

Hiiiii!! I’m Karina; I have been at Edgbaston Park Day Nursery since July 2010. I have had a wonderful experience working alongside FABULOUS staff and children. I currently work as Head of Pre-school with a very energetic, exciting set of 3 and 4 year olds. Previously, I have been Head of Baby room then left to go on maternity leave and returned 9 months later. I have been pushed to strive for more than a standard level 3 and attended UCB to do a FdA in Community and Family Support. Since completing the course it has given me EVEN MORE determination to ensure my pre-schoolers leave our nursery with the right set of skills and qualities to begin reception class. I have gained heaps of experience from the staff team here and at the beginning of 2016 I was promoted to Deputy Manager! I thoroughly enjoy working within the team and hope to continue to build towards maintaining our outstanding setting.

Hiiiiii, I am Silvia and I joined Edgbaston Park Day Nursery in July 2017. I love children and being employed as the Admin Assistant in a childcare environment means that I am in my ideal environment.
I am very happy to be working here surrounded by an amazing team, great atmosphere and lovely children and families, in addition, I feel that my knowledge, my skills and my own personal development has improved significantly.
English is my second language as I am a Spanish national so having the opportunity to practice my English speaking doing this role has been fantastic!

Hi, My name is Yvonne and i have been the cook at Edgbaston Park Nursery since 2008. I enjoy having the responsibility of providing the children with a variety of nutritious and healthy meals each day. My menus vary each week giving the children a great cultural range every day. I totally enjoy my job especially hearing the children say how much they enjoy my meals.
At the end of 2016 I decided to take up studying again and started my Level 2 qualification in Children's Care, Learning and Development.
Being a part of the team at the nursery brings me a lot of joy and feel like the mother in one big happy family.

Hi all, as you are aware my name is Avneet Dhami. I am currently working towards my Level 3 in Childcare and I’m loving every single second of it. I started as a Student at Edgbaston Park Day Nursery and carried on my placement days for 4 years! 2 years (2016) ago I asked for a summer job and from then on I have been working part time as I am currently achieving my education. I have experience in every room which includes Tweenies, Baby room and Pre-School which is where I am based now. I adore working with the Pre-School as I have passion and love for each and every child. Not to forget the staff team working along side one another, supporting and bringing the best out of each other. I am quite shy while getting to know me but I do bring out my confidence and I am rather crazy in happiness. I have gained so many skills and many more to learn as each day at Edgbaston Park Day Nursery is a success!

Hello, my name is Hannan I am a level 2 practitioner based in the Baby room. I joined the team in August 2015 but I originally started out as a student on placement at Playhouse Day Nursery, I was then employed there in February 2015 and later transferred to Edgbaston Park Day Nursery. I have studied level 1, level 2 and entry level 3 in Childcare and I am also planning on studying Childcare level 3 in 2016. My passion for working with children stems from having a big family which introduced me to the idea of pursuing a career in childcare.

Hi everyone I am Kayann, I would say that I am very out going and enthusiastic, but most importantly I am extremely passionate about my job. I have been a long standing team member of Edgbaston Park Day Nursery starting initially in 2008, as a Nursery Assistant I worked hard to gain my qualification. I went away after qualifying to start my own little family but realised as my children grew older that I really missed being at the nursery so I made the decision to return. I have always given 150% when working with the children and understand the high standards that Liz has for her team. Returning to the nursery as a mother of 2 has given me an even greater appreciation for the role that I play as a Practitioner.
